Anonymous asked: If that person is saying that women who are willingly dressing themselves up for their own fun is not promoting rape culture. Having men and women THINK ITS OKAY to touch someone with out consent is rape culture. God people are such idiots
Very well spoken! Ive been following you and never once seen any posts supporting rape. Everything I’ve seen caters to a subset of S&M culture. I think the Jerk is more obsessed with rape and their harassment undermines their legitimate platform
Thank you for your support, and also to everyone else who has commented or written in. I’ve been called a lot of things and told I support this or that over the years I’ve run this blog, but this one in particular bothers me more than others. Accusations like this are insidious, and I personally believe they do more to keep rape culture strong and dominant in our society than a few thousand lovely pictures of pets ever could.
I go to not-inconsiderable lengths to ensure that the images on display here are of consenting adults, and (especially with submissions) that the people being photographed have some connection to the submitter. The devaluation of human agency is absolutely not what I’m about, and I think that labeling anything a person doesn’t like or understand as “rape culture” undermines other very legitimate arguments that could be made on ACTUAL examples of the subject. It makes a mockery out of a very important thing and that’s what I find so fucking insidious about all this crap. It’s so much easier to dismiss something when it’s turned into a joke (eta: ANYONE who claims to understand anything about rape culture should already know this), and whether they realize it or not, that is precisely what they are doing.
